CT Constitution

Well, no big surprise here. Bryan Ricci, the owner of the Connecticut Constitution, announced yesterday that he is now the Chief Financial Officer of Major League Ultimate, marking him as another major defection from the AUDL into the nascent MLU.

It is also looking increasingly likely that the Constitution will play in the MLU in some capacity, as we guessed last week.

What that will look like is unclear. The closest franchise to Hartford is New York, which has already been announced, named, and entered in the logo design contest. Is the MLU going to add a Hartford team? Will the Constitution move to New York or Boston? It would certainly be a touch ironic if, after months of fighting to protect its territory against a New York team in a lawsuit with the AUDL, the Constitution migrated to New York.

We haven’t been able to reach Ricci for comment since late last night — we’ll have more soon.
